COMMUNITY CHIPPING DAY – PORTOLA
The Plumas County Fire Safe Council, in partnership with the Northern Sierra Air Quality Management District and the City of Portola, is hosting a community chipping day for Portola-area residents. Bring your woody material to Disc Golf Course entrance (next to the former Headwaters Bistro), and our crew will chip it on site, at no cost to residents.
ACCEPTED MATERIALS
- Natural woody vegetation only
- Branches 3–12 feet in length - Up to 8 inches in diameter
- Maximum: 16 linear feet - Stacked no higher than 4 feet, per load
NOT ACCEPTED
- Pine needles (loose)
- Leaves or yard debris
- Vines or shrubs
- Lumber or construction materials
- Metal, garbage, or dirt
IMPORTANT NOTES
- First-come, first-serve
- It is your personal responsibility to offload your chipping material
- Follow all required guidance given by staff and operators - service may be refused based on non-compliance
