Terri Simon Jackson

Terri was raised on a 50-acre farm outside of Lincoln, CA in the northern Sacramento Valley. She is the oldest of 7 children. She got her BA degree from UC Davis in Biological Sciences and her MS degree from Sacramento State University in Biological Conservation. Her MS degree was on radiotelemetry and habitat utilization by pine martens in the Webber Lake/Perazzo Canyon area of the Tahoe National Forest (NF). In 2020, she retired from a 40-year career with the US Forest Service (Tahoe, Mendocino, Plumas, and Shasta-Trinity NFs in CA) and the USDI (sea otter research/management in Alaska). She, her husband, and 5-month old daughter moved to the Plumas National Forest and Quincy in 1991. She served as the Fish/Wildlife/Rare Plant Coordinator, Resource Staff Officer, Mt Hough District Ranger, and Land Management Planner over her 23-years on the Plumas NF. She has experience in numerous land management issues. Her daughter attended preschool through high school in Quincy. Plumas County is "home" for our family. We are actively involved in the communities and, of course, enjoy the great outdoors and all the Feather River watershed has to offer. Serving on the FSC Board affords the opportunity to work with others on the urgent issue of wildfire resilience for the communities and forests that we all love.
